Eric Menges was born on April 6, 1967 in Frankfurt am Main. He studied Business Administration at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and graduated with distinction.

Eric Menges has worked for Banque Transatlantique in Paris, France and Transfield Construction in Sydney and Perth, Australia. In 1996 he joined the Government of Victoria, Australia as a Trade Development Manager. He was subsequently promoted to implement and run Victorias investment promotion strategy across Europe as Executive Director of the Frankfurt, Germany based business office of the State of Victoria.

In 2009 he joined FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH, International Marketing of the Region (FRM GmbH) -the official Investment Promotion Agency of the Greater Frankfurt area- as Executive Vice President. In 2015 and after having conducted a shareholder induced major strategic reorientation of FRM GmbH, he was promoted to the CEO role. FRM GmbH has since substantially grown its regional shareholder base (now operating across three federal German States) and has been one of the major contributors to facilitating the substantial growth of the Frankfurt Financial services cluster after the UKs Brexit decision. FRM GmbH maintains operations in China, USA, Japan, India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia, Singapore and the UK.

Eric Menges is married and has two children.  His main interests are sports (Surfing, Skiing) and playing the drums in a rock band.
