Dr. Alex von Frankenberg is Managing Director of the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), responsible for software and life science investments. With more than 760 seed stage tech investments since 2005 and 2 billion Euro under management HTGF played a crucial role creating a striving startup ecosystem in Germany. Investors are 45 large and medium sized companies, family office, Fraunhofer and the Federal Ministry of Economics. Previously Alex held positions in a company builder, head of sales and marketing in an IT startup and positions in management and IT consulting. Alex holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin (1992) and a PhD about the establishment of de-facto technology standards from the University of Mannheim (1997).
